A meeting of the Bulgarian Platform-EWL and the Hungarian Women’s Lobby and the topic is “the false messages of extreme, nationalist, extremist messages and policies against women’s rights and against the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence”. Guests of the meeting were Laura Albu, expert at GREVIO GREVIO – Istanbul Convention Action against violence against women and domestic violence (coe.int), Mary Collins, Policy and Advocacy Coordinator at EWL.
The meeting, funded by the European Women’s Lobby (EWL), took place on 13.12.2023 in the framework of the project “United to debunk the false narratives, myths and misconceptions about the Istanbul Convention”.
The Bulgarian Platform – EWL and the Hungarian Women’s Lobby have prepared key messages that can be useful for all organisations and experts who are working to debunk the false messages being spread in the public space by political figures, organisations and institutions (Key messages to support the development of a Strategy and Action Plan against false narratives, myths and misconceptions about the Council of Europe Convention against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence /Key messages for supporting the development of Strategy and action plan aiming to debunk false narratives, myths and misconceptions about the Istanbul Convention).
